“Just because you can, it does not mean you should.” This was a stand out statement that in a brief interview with Zambia Daily Mail. To quote the words of an unknown music teacher, “In all the arts, music is practiced most and thought about least.” Even when we should look at it fro our own experience, we probably have to admit that its true. Mostly, when we think about music, we think of it in terms of ‘do I like it?’ ‘or do I not like it?’
But in terms of actually thinking about it, we pend very little time doing that. Why, because music is something you do. Something you participate in. Something that you feel or experience. And that is one reason as to why I took long in releasing my debut album. To think about music, I’d think takes away some of its charm, and that is what turns me into that artiste who rehearses 10,000 times. Then again, the specific sounds and orchestration that goes with everything got me thinking of my music in terms of posterity. What contributions I put and leave behind in that long illustrious list of those that have gone on before me, before i took this stage.
Like it has been echoed again and again, “we’ll leave it to time and history to judge..,” hence the need to think musically, the need to revolutionize music, I picked up a philosophy and made it my own, my idea of influence and an appeal to all artists in this.., Let us not allow the moments to influence evade us; when we have the chance to influence, don’t just do it for us; do it for them (those future generations), do it for the human race. Let us end and finish the excuse that others have that task of thinking and setting the final stage for all ages to stand on. Revolutionize!!!Share This:
